How we're different

No university pays us.

Every traditional consultancy runs on commissions from the universities it "recommends." We run on the opposite of that. This is our anti-partners page — read it, then ask any consultant to show you theirs.

Our partner universities

None. Zero. That's the disclosure, and it's the whole point.

How the traditional tie-up works

Consultancies sign agent agreements with universities. Industry research puts the commission at roughly 10–15% of your first-year tuition per student they place (about ₹50,000–₹1,50,000 / ~$520–$1,570 per head in India). Walk into their office and ask "where should I apply?" and you're asking a salesperson who only sells the brands that pay them. Their counsellors are "trained by partnered universities" — trained by the people writing the cheques. The shortlist you see is the subset that pays, never the full set that might suit you. And the one card almost never on the table is the commission schedule itself: almost no consultancy publishes what each university pays them.

The question that breaks every consultancy pitch

"What would you recommend if no university paid you anything?" A good counsellor has a real answer. A commission-led one changes the subject.

The fake SOP & LOR racket

Many consultancies also sell "SOP writing" and "LOR arrangement" — sometimes drafting your statement of purpose for you, sometimes fabricating recommendation letters from professors or managers who never wrote them. Here's why that's poison, not help:

It's fraud on a federal form

Misrepresentation in a visa application can mean refusal, long bans, and rescinded admits. Your signature is on every document — the consultancy takes the fee, you take the risk.

Universities blacklist for it

Schools caught receiving fabricated LORs don't just reject the student — they have blacklisted agents caught doing it. One fake letter can burn the channel for everyone behind you.

Officers spot templates instantly

Visa officers read thousands of SOPs. A consultancy-polished essay reads like the 400 before it — and a generic story is the fastest way to sound like you have nothing genuine to say.

Our rule: we review and sharpen your SOP. We never write it for you, and we never arrange letters. If a consultancy offers to "handle" your SOP and LORs, that's a red flag — our consultancy-traps guide lists the rest.

So how do we survive?

By charging you — transparently, optionally, and never for a recommendation. When the student is the customer, the advice serves the student.

Free, forever

All six guides, the checklists, the university finder, the community. No paywall on the things that keep you from making a ₹80-lakh mistake.

Flat-fee application reviews

Fixed price, published on this site, zero university kickbacks. You pay for hours of expert review — not for being steered somewhere.

SOP review marketplace

Vetted seniors who've been through it review your SOP; revenue is shared with the reviewers. We sell sharpening, never ghostwriting.

Never, ever

Commissions from universities. Paid "partner" placements. Selling your email list. Selling your lead to a consultancy. One violation ends the brand — the moat is the refusal.

Start with the free stuff: the six guides, the brutal self-assessment, or ask us anything at the Help Desk.

Payment terms & refunds

Plain language, no fine-print games. If any of this is unclear, email us before you pay.

What you're paying for

A reviewer's hours and judgment — never an outcome. Nobody can sell you an admit, a visa, or a job, including us. The fee buys the review work described above, nothing more.

Prices & taxes

Prices are in INR and you're charged in INR; the $ figures are approximate. Any applicable tax (like GST) is shown before you pay, never added after.

How you pay

Through Razorpay (UPI, cards, netbanking) once live. Until then, booking and payment stay over email at aimhoneststudy@gmail.com.

Turnaround promises

Counted from the day you've sent everything we need: SOP Review — 5 days. Shortlist Review — 7 days. Full Application Review — 10 days.

Full refund, before we start

Cancel any time before we've acknowledged your documents and begun the review — full refund, no questions, no "processing fee".

After we start

No refunds — the hours can't be unspent. But every tier includes revision or follow-up rounds: if the review misses the mark, we redo the round free until it's right.

If we miss the deadline

Deadlines bind us too. If we miss the turnaround above, you get a full refund on request. No forms, no negotiation.

Calls & your documents

The 1-on-1 call reschedules free with 24 hours' notice. Your documents are used only for your review — never shared, never sold, deleted on request after delivery.

Disputes

Email us first at aimhoneststudy@gmail.com — we reply in writing within 7 days. We'd rather fix it or refund it than argue about it.

Why choose us

Our goal is simple: honest pathways for students — fewer junk consultancies, fewer junk universities. Here's what you get that the commission model can't give you:

Nobody pays to steer you

No commissions, no paid placements, no "partner" shortlists. The only advice in the room with nothing riding on where you enroll.

We talk you out of bad decisions

Most counsellors close you. We filter you. If the math doesn't work, we'll tell you not to go — a ₹80-lakh (~$84,000) mistake avoided is worth more than any admit.

Desi-specific reality

Rupee math, loan traps, OPT and H-1B mechanics for Indians, what a US degree is actually worth back home. Generic advice doesn't cover this; we live in it.

AI-era field guidance

Which fields survive automation and which don't — before you lock in two years and a loan. The degree has to outlive the hype cycle.

Free library, forever

Six in-depth guides, interactive checklists, the university finder, the community. The expensive-mistake prevention kit costs you nothing.

Real humans, free

1-on-1 mentor conversations with Indians already in the US — screened, genuine, no sales pitch at the end. Meet them here.

The deal: free guidance for everyone; small flat fees only when you want expert eyes on your application. When you pay, you pay for hours — never for a destination.
